In the days when each section of the railroad had its own track gang, these small buildings were an essential part of operations. Inside, the gang would store tools as well as extra spikes, bolts and other supplies, along with their hand car or gasoline powered speeder. Usually found near stations, interlocking towers or other company facilities, they were painted in the same colors as other railroad buildings. This small structure is based on a standard Pennsy design (Ideal for use with the New Freedom, Pennsylvania, depot kit, #152-141, sold separately.) that looks right alongside any station. The structure features authentic board and batten siding, rolled tarpaper roofing and peel and stick windows. The double front doors can also be built in the open or closed position. Away from the tracks, the finished model can be used as a one-car garage alongside any older home. Measures: 3 x 2-1/4 x 2" 7.5 x 5.6 x 5 cm.
